Summary: Bella is being held captive as a prisoner of the Cullens with no means nor hopes of escaping to safety. When not faced with unspeakable tortures at the hands of captors, she is left in abject isolation – enough to drive a sane person to desperation. Bella uses their projection power in order to escape her bleak circumstances, if only for a few hours. She projects herself across the world one afternoon, after her captors have gone, and encounters Derek. Though they have little time together, Derek quickly becomes a bright spot away from her horrible reality. Gradually, Bella begins to hope that Derek can help her be rescued.
