Music while writing is often distracting for me. Many songs want to birth new bunnies and it leads to a pile of unfinished or terrible stories. Examples include Dark Horse, Something Bad, Bad Moon Rising (not terrible, but deserves a sequel), and Broken Road.

While I write this blog post and plot out notes for others, my background noise is my hubby playin MGSV on the PS5 and his Hans Zimmer tracks on his phone. Luckily its all instrumental so anything lyrical won’t trigger more bunnies that Buggy would try to hire a hitman to take me out. As it is, a NYE bunny birthed a new crossover that has us sighing in resignation.

Previously, I did listen to the Arrow soundtrack. I still have it in my Apple library. Again, it is difficult to write with music because much of my writing is done between calls while I work during the day now. Once the workday ends, I try not to be on the computer and my hubby isn’t keen on it as it’s basically our family time by that point. We go out for a walk, play Pokémon GO, or watch movies and YouTube together.

So, if I’m doing any writing when it’s not working hours, my background noise is video games and instrumental movie scores. I just pray that the video games hubby plays won’t spark new bunnies. Resident Evil remakes have enticing story lines. Hubby wants me to play Mass Effect and suggested writing for it but the Sheppard character strongly conflicts with my darling Sheppy over at Stargate Atlantis. The only video games I’ve gotten immersed in so far is Hogwarts Legacy and passive playing on Red Dead Redemption 2 in the free play mode where I mostly just hunt and cook.

Until next time…
